Synopsis:
(short) The same day the 70' became the 80' we left our tiny flat in the city.
We did a rurnaround. Bought a big house at Lidingö, and were suddenly far
away from our beloved demonstrations against the capitalism's exploitation
of the poor.

The Gang of Lidingo is a fairy-tale for adults, based on a true story
and told from the children’s naive perspective. It’s about how my family
changed the 70’s left-winged part of Stockholm for Lidingo, a upper class
suburb with conservative ideals, just as the 80’s had begun. In our new
neighbourhood we, the children, were regarded as suspect elements. Did
we belong to the refugee camp that recently moved here? And what were
we planning, while the journalists were sneaking around?
Talented in diplomacy, we finally got new friends. They taught us how to
get to drive in the VIP lane, and how to live a jet set life. And our teachers
weren’t just anybody. The gang of Lidingo ended up behind bars. So far
so good, we thought. Then one day the journalists knocked on my family’s
door...

Om hur min familj bytte 70-talets röda innerstad mot 80-tal och borgerlig
förort med blå ideal. I vårt nya kvarter blev vi barn betraktade som
suspekta element. Hörde vi ihop med den flyktingförläggning som nyss
flyttat hit? Eller med journalisterna som stod på rad för att göra ett perfekt
samhällsreportage? Med diplomatisk övertalning fick vi nya vänner till slut.
Dom lärde oss hur man åker gräddfil och hur man får tillträde till ett jet set liv.
Och våra läromästare var inte vilka som helst; Lidingöligan hamnade bakom
galler till slut. ...Så en dag ringde journalisterna på min familjs dörr.
